Generating Quality Painting Leads with Long-Tail Painting Contractor Keywords

I don’t know if you can see behind me, but we are high atop a mountain at a beautiful hiking spot and there’s a lot of water down there. But on the hike up and the hike down what we discovered is it doesn’t all come in in a massive river. It doesn’t just show up out of nowhere. There are tons of little mountain tributaries that are responsible for what you see behind me.
And I want to talk to you about longtail keywords as you’re creating content for your website to generate good high-quality organic leads.
Often people want to after the main terms in their area with their SEO on their websites. They want to go after, “Painters in [the Geo-modifier].” So, where we are here currently would be, “Painters Benton, Tennessee.”
However, there’s all kinds of things that you can look for to write your blog articles or other content about in standalone pages that aren’t the main keywords.
Fore example: “cabinet refinishing in Benton, Tennessee,” “cabinet refinishers in Benton, Tennessee,” “epoxy floor,” “epoxy floor installers,” “apartment painters.” or…that’s a bad one, actually…I wouldn’t go after that one…” industrial equipment painters.”
Now, the thing is…you’re not going to get a ton of leads out of those posts in most cases, especially if you’re in a rural or a suburban market. However, just like the streams down here…sorry for the wind…what you’ll find is all those little pages…all of those longtail keywords add up to a stream like the one you see here behind me.
So, if you’re in a very competitive market, don’t try to immediately go after the three or four top keywords, instead, start at number 22, at 23, 24, work your way up to about 15 and then begin think about all the variances for both geo-modifiers and for the keywords that are down there.
Maybe you only get three or four leads a year of good, quality specific leads from that blog post. However, what you’ll find is those rank better until they turn into seven or eight, or one a month, and now you’ve got a flood coming in from various sources. It’s a lot more diverse and safe strategy.
