How Videos Help Painting Contractors Dominate Online Search | Free Strategy

How do you take these same video assets and turn them into something that can generate leads, especially for specific high value keywords like commercial painting, warehouse painting, and things of that nature, and even epoxy floors and cabinets, which we all know have higher profit margins. So, if you’re painting cabinets, and let’s say that you are in Ringgold, Georgia, what you do is you record the video, and you simply put the title “Cabinet Painting” or “Cabinet Painters, Ringgold, Georgia.

” Now, you may think that is a very boring title, Brandon. Why would I want to do that? It’s not very engaging. I don’t think it would make people watch the video, but the issue is Google still relies heavily on text to tell it what the video is about. And consumers who want to purchase professional painting services are looking for one of three things.

Well, actually a combination of two, typically. They are looking for the service you provide, and that would be the term “cabinet painters,” “epoxy floor installers,” “pressure washing companies,” or they’re looking for the thing that you do, which could be cabinet painting, exterior painting, etc.

So, one is the profession, and the other one is the surface that is being painted. It could also be warehouse painting, apartment painting, whatever it is that you’re targeting. The second key component of that is the geo modifier, and that is where is this service provider located? When you create a video, especially if you’re in a smaller market, and often even in larger ones, that specifically matches the search term that people type in, what you will find is that your competitors rarely take the time to record those videos and put them up. And so, if Google or
another search engine shows display and you’re the only person with the naming convention and the appropriate content, it makes a big deal. As a bonus tip, put a call to action for a free estimate at the end of every video. You can verbalize it to the camera or you can just show a screen with a QR code, with your website, with your phone number so they can book an estimate.

Finally, once you’ve got that name, you need to post it. Specifically on YouTube and then embed it into your website as a standalone article. Your website will point to the video, your video will point to the website, and you’ll get a compounding effect. Further, if there’s any spoken words in the video, if you are explaining, which you should, this is best, how to do it or if you’re commenting on the topic, make sure that you get it transcribed.

You can do this for free. There are online video transcribers. You can use that as the content of your blog and make sure that you load that blog with other keywords that are in the video so that it helps with search. So, don’t just put your videos on social media when you can instead take them and use them for organic search.

“This year has been the biggest year of growth for us. We're double where we were last year. I realized the real money in this business is in the marketing of the services - not the doing of the services.”
